Tips to Make Money With Affiliate Programs

Making money with Affiliate Programs seems to be a trend that is growing rapidly. Or is it better to say that, joining Affiliate Programs is that growing trend? The truth is, that the percentage of Affiliates that make any amount of extra income is small. You will find that a great number of these Affiliates drop their programs after a short period of time due to numerous reasons–one being the lack of any income generated by their efforts. These members joined under the belief that several of these Affiliate Programs run on Auto-Pilot—Just join, and watch the money pour in, this is far from the truth.

One of the first things one must understand is the method that any Affiliate Program uses to make It’s Profit. That Profit is achieved by recruiting a great number of Affiliates to Sell. or Market the product or program. The affiliate must understand that he or she has been given a product that they must market. Remember the Door to Door Salesman? He is given a Product, and then he goes Door to Door and promotes this product. Such is the same with the numerous programs avaliable online. As an affiliate, you are in fact, a door to door salesman. The difference is that you don’t promote your product solely by knocking on doors–you promote it VIA the WEB.

Several of the Affiliate Programs offered today supply the member with ready-made Websites, Banners to display, text ads, splash pages and a number of tools to draw their customers. You not only have a ready-made Website, you can also advertise your program via your personal website or blog, which works effectively if you have a great number of visitors viewing your Site. Most are not that luckey, they are just looking for a ready-built Site that will draw traffic immediatly. Such is not the case.

Once you have your affiliate website up and running, you will have to draw visitors to your Site. How is this done? There are several methods used and several thought’s regarding the best ways, by numerous “Internet Gurus”. Every one has their own opinion, but the bottom line is Traffic. The target is to draw visitors to your Site that have an interest in the product you are trying to promote!! This can be done in numerous ways–If you are willing to devote the time to achive it.

One method used is Articles. Writing articles and submitting them to numerous directories has proven to been a great method in drawing a targeted traffic to ones website or blog. A well written article on a subject related to the product you are trying to promote can draw a great number of interested viewers to your Site. Most article directory’s allow you to “Plug” your site in the author Bio, thus–the viewer, if interested goes to your Site. If other websites or blogs publish your article, they must leave your article in tact—giving you more viewers.

Forums are another effective means of drawing traffic. When you join a forum, most allow you to list your website in your signature. Post often and give answers to question posted, comment on posts, and viewers have the option to go to your Site via your signature.

Ebooks have been effective in drawing traffic to my Site. Use the many tools avaliable online to write your own Ebook, an Ebook with a subject related to your product. Give it away, and allow others to give it away. This method gives your Ebook a chance to go widespread—keep in mind that you have once again “Advertised” your website in your Ebook, reaching more possible customers.

Traffic Exchanges used properly can also create a steady stream of traffic to your Site. Manual Exchanges with a 20 or 30 second timer seem to work well. The longer timer gives the viewer more time to possibly find something in the upper fold of your Site to make them scroll further down your Site. There are many Traffic Exchanges avaliable, use many and use them often.

Give away a Free Ebook, and increase your subscriptions. There are numerous Free Ebooks avaliable that offer you re-sell rights and give-away rights. Use them to build a list of subscribers for your newsletter, and use your newsletter to promote your Affiliate Programs.

Use the methods I have stated above and you will see the traffic to your site increase. Give yourself some time to devote to this everyday, and stick with it.
