Bain Capital = help China turn the US into a yard sale
In June 2005, Bain teamed up with Haier Group, China’s largest appliance maker, and private equity firm Blackstone Group in an attempt to acquire Maytag for over $1 billion.

The new lawsuit (PDF) accuses the online giant of some truly seedy advertising activity that falls under the general heading of “syndication fraud.”
The case was filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and names Crafts by Veronica as the class representative. Crafts by Veronica has purchased advertising exposure from Yahoo in the past, but now claims that much of that exposure came through spyware, typosquatting, and parked domains—none of which qualify as “popular, high-quality sites” that Yahoo advertisers were promised.
The lawsuit alleges that many of the reported problems have to do with Yahoo’s syndication network, a group of partner companies that take ads from Yahoo and display them on their own sites. Although many of these partners are reputable media companies, several of them are firms like Intermix and Direct Revenue, firms investigated as spyware purveyors by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. Why would Yahoo remain in partnership with such companies? It’s simple—the relationship is highly lucrative.

Who would have thought that revenue sharing would be so lucrative? Two decades ago, the thought of sharing sales through commissions was only restricted to traditional trade. These days, however, this concept rules one of the largest industries to ever thrive on the Web in affiliate programs.
There has been plenty of news regarding affiliate programs and many have hailed their benefits in recent years. But how truly effective are they? And how can a new affiliate member use available resources in order to maximize success and minimize failure? Here, we take a look at what it would take to make it in affiliate marketing.

I have been thinking about moving to America for some time and now it’s a case of ‘when’ and not ‘if’. I have been looking into the requirements to move and how it go about it, but I need some advice.
I am currently approaching 24 and want to move within the next 18 months. I have a Bachelors degree related to my field of work and currently work in the Music Industry. The working visa’s available seem to be directed at having a specific skills. My work is in client relationship management, so i’m not sure if I would qualify…do you think I would? My thinking at the moment is to apply for jobs at the American equivalents of my company, as I would have the knowledge and skills required (transfers not available as the companies in America are not actually connected to my company, they are just affiliates).
Can anyone advise what the best method for me would be and the costs involved (relocation, visa fees etc)? I would be moving to New York as I have a lot of family over there (aunts, uncles, cousins etc) and the company(s) that I would want to work for are based there.

I am in mist of creating a website and one of things that has been weighin on my mind is selling advertisement space and im not exactly sure how i am going to do it. i do plan onhaving a couple of spots for “pay per click” through affiliate sites, also i am thinking about renting specific spots to whoevers interested either on a weekly to a monthly basis but im not exactly sure what its worth. do i put some kind of program on my site that tracks how much traffic
each ad gets and if so, what program do i use and how much do i charge per hit. OR do i charge by the size of the ad and where its placed ?
BTW, lets keep google adsense out of this one

If you don’t know much about ClickBank affiliate marketing, you should know that it is one of the best affiliate programs on the Web. There are scores of affiliate products in several niches and markets that you can promote. Ask yourself why you should become a member of Clickbank and try to figure out what are the benefits of being an affiliate.
Clickbank is in fact the affiliate marketer’s best choice. During the early days, if you wanted to market one of your products on the Internet, you had to set up your own credit card processing and merchant account. As far as newcomers were concerned, this was very difficult to accomplish without credit history. People rarely got credit for dealing greater than $1,000 in sales in a given month until they built up a name as an esteemed business. The cause for this was that credit card people were scared of refunds for fresher businesses, if their services or products were not up to par. This made it extremely difficult for the newbies on the Web to get anyplace and Clickbank came to save them.
