I have looked around Clickbank itself, and still am not clear on the answer. This is regarding affiliates making hoplinks for products.

What is the actual purpose of the tracking code?
Should I include it in the hoplink?
When creating the hoplink, when it asks for the tracking ID so I just make something up or is there something specific I need to include?
