I’m considering becoming a Clickbank affiliate and earning commissions on sales. What are some good marketing methods that can get the most traffic in the least amount of time?

You should research on JV or Joint Ventures.
Pay Per Click > will get you instant traffic but there is a high learning curve, if your new to it, you might burn a hole in your pocket.
some other methods you might want to consider is,
article marketing, blog reviews, forum posting, hubpages, squidoo lens
