Affiliate Marketing Strategies – 9 Survival Skills to Find a Profitable Affiliate Offer

Promoting affiliate marketing offers has been the best way for me to do business online. Knowing what to promote or selecting a profitable offer to promote needs some evaluations of different factors. In this article I will explain some key factors I use in selecting a niche in affiliate marketing. Some say it is done by simply picking up any niche with any product in that niche to promote, but from my experience I can tell you for sure it will never work that way, so what should be done to ensure success in affiliate marketing ? Here are the best methods I have compiled from my experience in affiliate marketing:

1. Potential Of Money

Honestly. We all marketers promote affiliate offers basically for the monetary value involved in that product. You lie if you said you were once an affiliate marketer because you wanted to make the world a better place for humanity. I agree you want to help people as well but keep in mind the most important key factor in this is pursuing wealth, do not look for any offers but only promote the best offers that you think have the most potential to pay off really big.

2. Competition

Another thing to look for is competition as when involving in PPC affiliate marketing. Of course you want to gravitate to the industry profit, but that does not always mean that you will make the most money in them – especially if the offer you are promoting is very saturated.

3. Advertising Budget

How much money have you put in to start with? This highly impacts whether you can succeed in your affiliate marketing campaign. If you only have a few hundred dollars to test out, you do not want to promote an offer for mobile ring tones that will be severely eating into your budget without much return at first. Be conservative and realistic with the offers that you are going after, especially if you have a limited budget to begin with.

4. Keyword opportunities

This links to a personal knowledge, some offers give more keyword opportunities than other offers. For example, a jewelry store with many thousands of variations of a product has much more potential of paid search than a normal page selling a single product. Certainly, some creativity in the selection of keywords is necessary to succeed in PPC, but it is vital to understand the complexity of any campaign before taking it on.

5. Personal knowledge

Based on my personal experience, you should only promote affiliate offers in areas that you have some knowledge in. Not only this is going to help you think like a potential customer, but it will also be helping you tweak your landing pages and propose new keywords that give you an edge over the competition.

6. Reputation/Company Brand

The reputation and brand name of a company for many customers is important when shopping online. Where would you be most likely to buy ? When participating in affiliate marketing, only choose the offers from companies that have a good track record and a decent reputation. This will have a highly positive impact on your conversion rate and your results.

7. Desperation

What does it mean? Desperation drives people to find a solution to their problems, regardless of the cost. For example, diet pills and health products most often work well because people are always desperate to lose weight or solve any other health problem.

8. Calendar

Always keep in mind that the time of year should also be a significant factor in the major decisions for the selection of your affiliate offers. For example, chocolates and flowers convert well before Valentine’s Day, and health and food products before the summer season.

9. Market demand

Is there a demand for the product you are promoting? Assess the levels of demand in the market and make sure you’re promoting a product that people want and need for improving their lives.
